Do not send your application to the DPS using any service in which they have to sign for it. When you send it registered or certified mail your application will sit in a box at the post office to wait for a worker at DPS to come in and sign for it. They may do it every day or they may take a week.

If you want to know the day in which DPS receives your application then send the application using "delivery confirmation." It costs about $0.65 cents extra if you send it first class.

Sent mine certified mail with return receipt, they received it 2 days after I sent it. I was told by the instructor to send it certified.
