I followed the advice of the earlier post and cleaned the pistol really reallly well. Although the gun was very clean and lubed before shooting it, the 400 rounds must have accumulated enough trash to cause the malfunction. I agree that I should run my semi autos a bit greasier! I will start that habit with this cleaning. After the cleaning.....I was able to put 150 rounds through my little Sig flawlessly. She is back in action
I thought it might be time for a trip to the factory for her after this ordeal....she has some miles on her! Take care.

Thanks Highvelocity!!
It is ironic that I am sitting here with the slide in my lap....Maybe it is just dirty, I would like to think 400 rounds should be no problem in one session, but maybe that is not the nature of the beast. I am going to clean it really well and try again tomorrow. It gives me another excuse to get out there and shoot a few more. Take care.

Problem with my SIG

I had a great day at the range....I got to hang out with Seadawg and Elgato, which was delightful as always! I banged out around 400 rounds today out of my P226 9mm and on the last five magazines the slide would not remain open. I realize that the first things to pop into my mind was magazine problem..........but it occured with both magazines. Has anyone else ever had this occur with a SIG or other semi?? The weapon never failed to fire, but it was ready to go to another cycle with no round in the chamber. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
