Re: Let's hear some updates!
I just checked the status of my application and it's finally processing. I mailed out the forms on April 29th certified return receipt and I got back the receipt on May 5th without a date on it so I don't know when they actually got it. Now that I know they have it, I can calm down a bit. I'm sure i...

Re: Pistol Range in Ft. Worth
what i got hit by was the jacket of my own round .... quality of the ammo dosent matter i dont think .... I was shooting corbon powerball ... thats not cheap stuff That's what I was hit with too and you're probably right, quality doesn't matter. I was just guessing. My point was though, I can't ima...

Re: Pistol Range in Ft. Worth
I got hit theother day with a piece of shrapnel. It didn't come from the back stop, it came from my own round. When I fired, I saw it fly to the right, bounce off the separator and hit me in the right forearm... and it was hot. Another reason I knew it didn't bounce back off the backstop is the way...

Re: Pistol Range in Ft. Worth
So just under 12 yards. I have small scars on my neck and shin from shrapnel at that range. Question: How can you have scars from shrapnel on your shin when the lower part of the stalls are covered by wood from the waist to foot? There's just a small space, about 2", on the bottom so peole can...

Re: Why don't they follow the law?
NICS is the National Instant-Check System. It is a list of people who are disqualified from purchasing firearms because they are felons, mentally ill, etc. Everyone who purchases a firearm from a federally licensed dealer (that is, all gun stores) must pass NICS unless the buyer has a CHL that meet...

Re: Links for gun safe info in the works
http://www.pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&_action=detail&id=18 I bought one of these from www.campmor.com about a month ago. I own a full size one I use on my motorcycle for long trips and it worked great so i thought this would be a great thing to use for when I have my gun with me while...

Re: More proof only cops are properly trained to handle a Glock
I know you Glock lovers are fanatic and I'll admit that they are fine weapons BUT A plain old fashioned double/single action weapon probably wouldn't have fired in that instance. It only takes one time to have a lapse, or to forget, or to be tired, or whatever and that's it. We all point our finger...

Re: 911 tape released - why we own guns!!
I need to figure out how to capture this video. I need this for my classes. Chas. Look for a player called FLV Player. Install it. Empty your Internet cache (temporary files), then go to the site where the viseo is. Once the video is completely downloaded go back to the area where your computer sto...

Re: Why don't they follow the law?
Since no one took the bait and answered my question about DPS issuing CHL's without completing a full background check, I'll go ahead and give the reasons why we don't/shouldn't want that done. If a Texas CHL is issued before a complete background check, then most states will cancel their reciproci...

Re: Pistol Range in Ft. Worth
I don't think that's concrete but I could be wrong. Whenever I got hit with something it always looked like shards from jacketed bullets. Even so, it didn't happen often.

Re: Pistol Range in Ft. Worth
I love that place. I joined back in August before I bought my Beretta Px4. My only complaint: They don't sell any Berettas... but they told me why and I understand. I go there about once a week. I found them to be the cheapest and friendlist range I've been to so far. And it doesn't hurt that they'r...

Re: ON TARGET IN WHISKEY FLATS 1187 & 377
They are EXPENSIVE to shoot there. I shot there twice and more than likely will not return. When I went there my friend rented a gun and had to buy their ammo. He bought two boxes of Winchester 9mm for $13 per box. This was when Wally World was selling the 100round boxes for $15+ change. He walked o...
