Re: "I Carry A Badge" Leather Concealed Weapon Permit Holder
No, no I didn't. I understand them to be covered by Texas Occupations Code, chapter 1702 (specifically, §1702.323, Section (d)). What I fail to see is how that correlates to CHL's? It is not impersonation as a security guard is covered under this statute. Are CHL licensees (who are not sec. guards) somehow covered under this? I don't think so...megs wrote:Here's the part you missed.Carrying a badge is not impersonating a cop. If it was, thousands of security guards would be in jail.
To somehow tie this to CHL licensees is the point I am missing. How does the fact private security can carry under 1702 tie in to CHL's?

Re: "I Carry A Badge" Leather Concealed Weapon Permit Holder
How so? We're not security guards and carrying a CHL is not an occupation. I fail to see the link between the two...megs wrote:The way I read Texas Occupations Code, chapter 1702, if it's legal for security guards to wear badges, then it's legal for us as long as we don't use any of the restricted words.

Re: "I Carry A Badge" Leather Concealed Weapon Permit Holder
Sure...do that. Then, when the BG's see you leave your house, they know that there is a high likelihood of weapons being in the house. All these signs and stickers are just adverts for the contents of your home.Embalmo wrote:I hope this isn't a hijack, but I've given consideration to the idea of a serious lawn sign with window stickers that indicate that I will shoot intruders. I think, if it worked, it would be ideal, because it is my goal to never draw or fire on a threat. I guess that is really my attitude toward personal protection, I want to make the potential threats aware of my strengths so I will never have to use them.

As for the CHL badge, well...my thoughts are that the folks who buy CHL badges are mall commandos, tacticool dorks, etc. Wannabe cops, basically.
(not a personal attack...I haven't read the thread to see who and who not is in favor of a CHL badge...these are just my personal opinions / observations)
