Not to quibble over 2oz but I count the weight of the gun with the mag. When are you not going to have a mag in the gun when carrying? Grain of ammo will of course effect weight but with the mag it is about 21.5oz to start out.

Re: In my quest for a pocket pistol, I have questions...

Well all I can say is that the cm9 only weighs 16 ounces unloaded while the pps weighs 21.5 unloaded. It might not seem like much but it does add up in the size department. I think of the Walther PPS 9mm as a Glock 26 single stack with a better trigger imo. The PPS is nice to shoot and the cm9 has a little more bark to it being that it is smaller and less to hold on to but if your goal is JUST pocket carry and not hip or a range gun where you put over 300 down range in a day then the cm9 is better imo. Then again I only pocket carry as my backup. There is always one on my hip when in normal everyday attire. I can just draw quicker with hip carry no matter how much I try with pocket carry.

Edit: Also I have a glock 27 and I tried pocket carrying it once. Just to heavy imo. 10 rounds of 165-180 grain add up quick!

Put it this way I think the PPS is a better gun overall and for hip carry but If it prints to much in your pocket or is hard to draw your going to not carry it in the end. I can promise you that the micro 9mms like Kahr Cm9 and Nano will be easy to pocket carry.

Re: In my quest for a pocket pistol, I have questions...

I have shot almost all the ones you mentioned and out of the single stacks the PPS and shield have the least amount of felt (perceived recoil) at least to me. The PPS and Shield are noticeably heavier and bigger then a Kahr Pm9. LC9, Shield and PPS are closer in size and weight then a PM9. Pm9 and Nano are similar in size and are truly pocket carries. While the LC9, PPS and Shield can be pocket carried but have a little bigger footprint and weight. Just depends on what you want? I personally like single stack 9mms a little bigger and a few extra ounces on them but go to a gun store and have them put them all side by side and see if you can fire any that fit your hand well. I only pocket carry my snub nose and like you I won't drop back down to the .380acp. CM9 fits the bill if you can shoot it well for pocket carry.
