You're Marlin 308 is doing it? Oh, that's not a good sign. No we are talking about a different cartridge. Were you firing the Hornady Lever Ev. or something else?

I also own a Marlin 336 that was built in 2008 and I have used over 4 boxes of the Hornady Lever Ev. ammo and have never had a problem. I have never seen signs of over pressure on the rifle or on the spent casings. One of two things, either there is a bad batch of Hornady going around or a bad batch of Marlin 336s in .30 .30. I would call Hornady and tell them what happened and the same with Marlin. I am personally guessing it is the rifle but post what you find out.
