had fallen off (actually the sealer melted and it slid off...dang texas heat!)Asked me for the usual paper work, handed my CHL along with it. He asked what I usually carry so I told him. Just got a verbal warning. I asked him if red tape was ok and he said, that would work (until I have to get it inspected). Not a get out of jail free card but good encounter.
