Thanks! Yes, other than the operations manager and the shotgun class range master, all the other staffs are new but I think they did a better job on providing 1 on 1 feedback than before. They've also changed the curriculum where there are no more turning targets and no more night shoots.

Type 2 malfunction. Looks like I'm doing it all wrong.

1 on 1 battle. I beat every body but one old dude. He's quick! I'm quicker but I missed! :evil2: I guess there is this saying "you can't shoot fast enough to miss" holds true to this day. :rolll I'm happy being #2 though. :biggrinjester:

We had our test shooting distance from 3 meters all the way up to 15 meters time pressured
There is also a timed head shot from 5 and 7 meters.
Then there are those timed malfunction drills on type 1/2/3 and Tactical reload, and emergency reload.

Both of us did really well where I only had 6 points down and my niece's BF shot his with 0 points down. We both made the shots and malfunctions under the allotted time. Both of us got what we were aiming for which is Distinguish Graduate. There were only 4 out of 38 who got this and 2 of them are Texans. :D

Here is mine.

Here is my partner's

At the very end of the class, they posted up some targets with 2 hostage takers behind the hostage. They asked us to write the name of our loved ones on the hostage. Then we proceed to make those head shots at 5 meters.
He of course has my niece's name on there. LOL

And I have my wife. ;-)

Setting up a type 2 malfunction. Stove-pipe / brass high. Clearance time: 1.6 sec
Image

Type 3 malfunction. Double-feed / brass low. Clearance time: 6.5 sec
BTW, neither one of our guns experienced any malfunctions during those 4 days.

Distance one way to Las Vegas is approx 1500 miles. We left Galveston with a full tank of gas at 11:30AM CST Friday afternoon and got to our resort in Las Vegas by 1:30PM PST Saturday.

If anyone wonders the kind of mileage a Honda Odyssey gets on a long trip like this, it's 24.1 MPG. It ranges from 18.1 MPG traveling in town in traffic at the strip to 32 MPG with cruise control on mountainous terrains 7000 feet above sea level.

Our pistols of choice for the next 4 days. Glock 17 with 3.5# connector and a bone stock Springfield Pro.

Here are our instructors on Range 7 / 18: Jenny and Jeff. Both every competent in what they do. Jeff is carrying a 1911 and Jenny is carrying a Glock
