The call was on Thursday afternoon wanting some more info to help find my app, and Friday was a holiday, so hopefully I will hear from them on Monday. I also had a letter from the governor's office waiting in my mailbox on July 5th, dated June 30. That letter said they'd contact the DPS head and see what could be done. So since the letter was dated before the call, I'm sure I can give the gov's office some credit, too.ryoung wrote:Wow! I was quite surprised that Rep. Taylor's office responded to my e-mail the very next day. According to his aid, I should expect to hear from the DPS next week. I won't hold my breath, but if our reps hear from enough of us maybe something will be done to improve the service we receive from those fine folks at the DPS!

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?
The woman was very nice and said that they would contact DPS to request my status. She also said to call back if I didn't hear anything from DPS by the beginning of next week. Considering his district has the highest per capita license issue in the state, I think he may have a vested interest in keeping the voters happy.03Lightningrocks wrote:So what did they say? Literally less than 30 minutes after I wrote the "wait two weeks" comment for handwritten, I got a call from Rep. Larry Talylor's office. I sent the letter out on Friday. So I guess I overestimated.
I'm not expecting the plastic to magically appear in the mail, and all I asked for was a PIN and some sort of info on what's happening. Been over 70 days now...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?
I'd say wait about a week if you emailed, or a couple weeks if you hand wrote them. Most of them have staffers that sort the mail, so it may take a few days once it arrives before they even see it.

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?
Yeah I worded that poorly. Correction to myself...writing=good, DPS giving some special treatment and hanging others who've been waiting longer out to dry=bad.03Lightningrocks wrote: Just to be clear....I don't feel like anyone should hesitate to write their representative and complain...

I'll throw my support to CTAC. Never thought I'd be able to conceal something as big as a P99 with no printing.demosdarker wrote:Thanks guys. I have sent a letter to my state rep, so I'm hoping to hear back from that eventually.
The sad part is....I don't even have a holster yet.
Keep us updated on how the letter works out.

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?
Welcome welcome.
Firstly, you should never feel like writing your reps is a hassle to them. They're there to represent you, and I'd say 100 days is long enough to wait. There is some sentiment on here that it's unfair to write because it may put you ahead of others that have been waiting longer, but I don't think many people have been waiting longer than you, so you're good to go.
