Re: April Applications
My wife is still waiting on hers. She just got her PIN 2 weeks ago. We both sent off our apps on 4/17 and both money orders cleared on 4/28. I got my license on 8/2. It's really irritating, too, because her background check should be very short, since she's only lived and worked in 2 counties, and I had to list over 15 (including those same 2).The_Vigilante wrote:RichardJ,
Congrats after a long wait. You may be the last April applicant to receive his/her license. Are there any others still waiting from April?

Re: April Applications
My wife just got her PIN 2 days ago on day 121. I got my PIN on day 91, and my plastic on day 103, but we shipped them on the same day, and she had fewer addresses and employers to list. It just doesn't make any sense.ABN556 wrote:Are there any April applicants left still waiting or am I the last one??

Re: April Applications
Well it has been over 4 weeks since I received my representative prompted call from Melody at DPS. At that time she said they were just waiting on the FBI check to come back. I checked online again this morning only to see "processing application" again, so I was on my way outside to call them back and complain about the even longer wait when my phone started vibrating. I picked it up, and guess who it was....Melody calling back saying she just dropped my card in the mail!!!!! Cue the army of dancing bananas.
101 days from receipt to approval. I hope it gets here by Saturday. Wally World trips are easier for me on the weekends.

Re: April Applications
I just got my PIN this week, and now I wish I hadn't. I've definitely made up for lost time by checking at least a dozen times a day. On the bright side, it did help me finally memorize my DL#.

Well, as far as I know, they haven't finished mine or my wife's (both received 4/22). Re: April Applications
See Keith's post right above yours. It's very common to check instructor instead of the right box. Look on the bright side though, at least you have a pin.ranger's wife wrote:Has anyone received this error message when they try to check their status?
The data you have submitted does not match what is in our records. Please verify the data submitted is correct. If you still cannot proceed, please contact DPS at 1-800-224-5744 or email chl@txdps.state.tx.us for more information.
I have checked and doubled checked the info I put in and I still get this message.
Thanks

Re: April Applications
Got another call from DPS today from a very nice lady that said it should be on its way soon. The prints should come back within a few days, and then they'll print the card. She also gave me her personal extension in case I don't see it within a couple weeks.

Did you try your senator and the governor's office? I got a letter in the mail from Gov. Perry's office very quickly, followed by a phone call from DPS. Which rep is ignoring you?vscott wrote:Tried that twice, he didn't even reply.killerfly128 wrote: call your rep and you might get it faster.

Re: April Applications
Got the expected call from DPS today, asking for DL# so they can start looking. Supposedly my prints were sent off and they're just awaiting the background to complete. The guy gave me the impression that it shouldn't be much longer, assuming everything comes back clean. So from letter in the mail to call from DPS in 3 business days. I'm impressed. Although I'm still not happy about it taking so long.

Re: April Applications
I'd say write whenever you feel you need to. I'm going to get into the practice of writing more often, since it seemed to work for my grandfather while he was alive. You don't have to ask for special treatment, if you're worried about the ethics of it. Just politely inform them of your concern and ask that they devote some attention to everyone who is having to wait too long, whether now or in the next session. That's what I did, and I'm not expecting any personal attention, but I wouldn't turn it down. This way, I think it sounds more like "concerned citizen" rather than "whiney voter."baseballguy2001 wrote:I was reading some of the stories from the boys in the 'March Applications' room -- some had 90+ day waits. A few had written to their reps in Austin. How many days is a 'good' time to write? I'm at just over 60 days since my application was received in Austin.

Sweet, we have our own room now!!! I'm starting to hope that the wait time is a bell curve and we're back on the low end now
