Based on the story, it does look like the home owner doing the shooting did just that. Became a vigilante to "help" the police. We shall see how it all shakes out.chasfm11 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 8:12 amIf the home owner turned into a vigilante, that could be a reason for the charges. It is also possible that he was in sight range of the police officers when he fired. If there weren't any other gunshots, it may be another case where your story has to match the facts to stay out of jail.Cook said that he heard what sounded like gunshots being fired toward officers, so he got his gun. However, officials say there have been no reports of gunshots that night besides when Cook fired his weapon.

Re: OK: Robbery spree nets three robbers, one homeowner in jail
It was pretty dumb to get involved with Police already chasing down the bad guys. I think the home owner is in some serious trouble now. The guy he shot is probably going to sue him on top of it all. I don't get why folks don't just let the cops do their job. It would never enter my mind to get in the middle of a police chase.ELB wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 3:41 pm Police caught one; the other two (brothers) jumped into a backyard and were confronted by a third man who was armed and fired twice, striking one of the two in the abdomen (critical condition but expected to survive). The uninjured robber fled, but surrendered to police shortly afterward.
The third homeowner was arrested by police and charged with "shooting with intent to kill" (apparently it's an Oklahoma thing; I have seen that charge in OKlahoma before). Homeowner is in jail on $75K bond while DA reviews case.
