Just saw on FOX news that this little maniac is already out of jail and back on the streets. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! What on earth does it take to keep a criminal in jail these days???
Some kind of technicality about the DA having to file charges within 48 hours. Of coarse his parents say he is a good boy and would never do such a thing intentionally! Good Lord I am going to throw up!

Re: CA: the mean streets of Los Angeles
According to that, they did find marijuana in the vehicle. Maybe the young maniac was stoned. Why is he not charged with attempted capital murder? Did these recruits not count as officers of the law?

Re: CA: the mean streets of Los Angeles
He may have been high from smoking pot. As far as I know, there are no tests for being high at the time they take the test. They can see THC in your system but THC will show positive in a test for a month or more after last using it. I am generally in favor of legalizing and regulating marijuana but my one lingering doubt is concerning folks driving while stoned. How the heck do they prove it? I think driving while stoned is just as dangerous as driving while drunk. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 9:17 amThe driver passed a field breathalyzer test. He may have been impaired by some other substance than alcohol. But impaired or not, according to witnesses who observed him coming down the wrong side of the street and then seemingly deliberately swerving into the runners, it looked deliberate.srothstein wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 9:12 pmI am waiting for more information to come out but I have pretty strong suspicions that this was not an accident. Driving the wrong way on the street. Not impaired at all. Cadets running in a formation of 75 with escort training officers and two escort vehicles (not sure if marked police units or not). Only reason it was so few hit was that the runners in the front of the formations saw the driver coming at them and were able to dive to the side. The ones hit were towards the rear and never saw him coming because their view was blocked until the others jumped out of the way, leaving them with no time to react.Rafe wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 2:59 pm More than 20 hit! It occurred at about 06:30 in California...which doesn't rule out a heavily impaired driver, but it can't be easy to hit that many people unintentionally. I'll sit on any conspiracy theories until more info comes in, but offering prayers for the injured.
My guess, with no evidence at all, is that the driver had been rejected from the academy for some reason.
FWIW, it was a mixed group of cadets from multiple jurisdictions running together. Most, but not all, were LASD. One was a cadet from my former home town's Pasadena PD.

This is becoming a major issue. People using SUV's to kill multiple people. We need to immediately write up legislation to ban all assault SUV's.

Might get interesting watching them try that trick at a Texas party. Or better still, a Texas BBQ. Hahaphilip964 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 1:57 pm https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2021/12 ... day-party/
Now mugging Christmas Parties. How's that lack of CHL (may issue) working out for y'all? Pacific Palisades CA, NW of LA. Homes are in the 3 million range, if they are not near the ocean.
