It depends on which 556 we are talking about. There is a 500 dollar spread in the different models. It also depends on when you bought it. There is the BO(before odumbell), then there is DO(during Odumbell)... we presently have AO(after odumbell). Each time frame referring to level of fear for confiscation factor. I bought a 556 SWAT(which is the good one, expensive...LOL) just before that socialist was elected... BO, for a grand total of 1200 bucks. I found myself in the middle of a bidding war for it at 2700 DO, because everyone was just sure he was going to personally come take our guns...LOL.
