Thank You.... . I may hit my local Academy to see if they have any. I have a bud who did not think ammo supplies would be an issue and now he has exactly 20 rounds of 9mm left and 1 box of 50 in 380. He doesn't have a lot of time to stalk ammo, so he would be all over this deal. The guy can't go to the range because of ammo shortages. The ranges are even starting to ration ammo.....and that is at quite a mark up in price too. My local range has started selling only to people who plan to shoot it on location. I can't imagine anybody wanting to stock up on 25 dollar per 50 9mm anyway...

Re: Academy ammo sales
Price must always accompany sighting reports.RECIT wrote:To update everyone on Academy and their ammo sales. I was just at the same Academy that I learned about the limit and now they have lifted the limit on all ammo once again. I hope all the complaining I did about the two box limit changed their policy back to the norm. I was just in there and they had several choices of all calibers. They got a truck this morning and I bought 8 of the 11 value pack Remington 9mm FMJ they had. The department manager would NOT sell me the other boxes. He said he had to leave some for other people. I told him I had come by the last 3-4 days in a row and I am other people! I was happy to get what I did. Good luck to all.

Re: Academy ammo sales
I was wondering about that also. 9mm WWB at wally world is running about 20 bucks 40 about 26 and 45 about 29lawrnk wrote:Not sure what caliber you are shooting, but 46.00 per 100? What the heck is that?AndyC wrote:I can reload about 100 rounds of handgun ammo in an hour on a single-stage press.
So currently $46/100 store-bought vs $16/100 handloads, I figure I'm getting paid about $30 for an hour of my time ;)
I can understand not having much free time - but an hour here and there means some serious money, plus the satisfaction of being self-sufficient in terms of ammo-availability.

Re: Academy ammo sales
Time is the issue for me also. I actually have the whole set up for reloading. I used to reload for my 44 mag., 357/38, and 45 ACP. It has now been almost 25 years since i last reloaded any ammo. That is just about when I started working more to get ahead in the world. Maybe after i retire I will pick it up again. I sure used to enjoy doing it.RECIT wrote:Reloading is great for the people that have/make the time to do it. I am not one of those people though. I know it is cheaper after you get set up with equipment and everything, but when one works 50-60hrs a week time is more valuable than money in some instances.
