Even if they did and all of them claimed they didn't, I would not believe them. Of coarse they saw her comments. They were all over the place. One could not have avoided them.

This verdict is vengeance from the leftards and race baiters. The only thing he is guilty of is being a white police officer.
However I do think he is guilty of being stupid and an idiot. Once handcuffed there was no reason for him to continue to kneel of GF. If he would have gotten up off of GF he probably wouldn't be going to jail now.
The optics were bad. Do I believe the optics should be the narrative? No. But with all of the cameras rolling and the goldfish attention span most people have the optics become the narrative.

Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
Who didn't see that coming? Chauvin is about as unlikeable as a person can get. The optics of this situation were simply too much to overcome. Do I believe Chauvin contributed to Floyds death, not even a little bit. Floyd was a dead man from the moment he decided to swallow a mouth full of Fentanyl to avoid being caught with it. Chauvin just managed to make himself the patsy by not simply standing up beside Floyd rather than kneeling on his back. His ego as a cop just got him convicted of three charges.

It is shameful that they even pretend to call this a trial. It was more of a kangaroo court before giving in to mob rule.

The State has it's foot planted firmly on the scales of justice. This whole thing just stinks. IMHORottenApple wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 8:22 amI believe the State is expected to rest sometime today. Then the defense will probably move for a directed verdict based on the prosecution not making their case beyond a reasonable doubt (and considering all the conflicting testimony by the state's own witnesses, they certainly have not done that). This will get denied because of political pressure, of course. And then the defense gets to put their witnesses on and that is expected to end Friday or possibly Thursday. The jury has already been told to bring an overnight bag on Monday because they'll immediately go into sequestration for deliberations.

You mean the medical examiner that is heavily influenced by the leftist mob running that state? Oh OK then.parabelum wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:15 amFair enough. But I think that Medical Examiner might be more informed and educated on these matters than most of us here.

My opinion once the toxicology results came back and it showed that George Floyd died from a Fentanyl overdose then all charges against Officer Chauvin should have been dropped and Floyds death should have been ruled suicide by an intentional ingest of Fentanyl! The knee to the neck did not kill George Floyd, the handful of fentanyl he purposefully swallowed killed him! Once again Derek Chauvin will be sacrificed on the alter of Political Expediency!

I will never believe the timing of the settlement and the comment that all city council members were unanimous was not an attempt to further taint prospective jurors.

Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
Not being an attorney, some of this causes me a bit of confusion. Specifically the dismissed for cause rulings. I am taken by jurors who have made statements on their questionnaires showing extreme prejudice not being dismissed for cause. One of them even made social media posts showing extreme prejudice and they are not dismissed for cause because they state they can be impartial? What ever it is, it sure as heck was not third degree murder. Completely absurd! That right there proves this is nothing more than a political whitch hunt to satisfy the mob.philip964 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 11:59 amI totally agree. Third degree murder charge reinstated, so they can give the jury the opportunity to find him guilty of something, so they can continue to live after the trial.

Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd
Sounds like Chauvin is at a pretty hefty disadvantage.ELB wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 10:51 amThe State AG took over prosecution from the local prosecutor, and the AG has a stable of state paid prosecutors, plus IIRC the AG brought in outside counsel specifically for this case, plus the state budget. As high profile as this case is, he effectively will has unlimited resources for this. The defendant has two private practice lawyers, one of which was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2001, was a cofounder of his law firm, and has specialized in criminal defense. Branca has not been complimentary of his performance so far. I don't know history of the other defense lawyer. And AFAIK they are working on Chauvin's budget, I can't tell if the Minneapolis police union is supporting him (and the other officers) financially or not. The police union president had publicly been a vocal defender, I guess you would call it, but he resigned in Jan.

It is fascinating to watch the questioning of these prospective jurors. I am honestly beginning to wonder how Chauvin is going to get a fair trial.
