O6nop,

Sorry to hear your bad experience. If you are free during the weekday and around 12PM-3PM, this range is pretty much empty. If you want to try again, feel free to PM me, we can run some timed drills.

I've never seen the RO enforcing that you have to "obliterate" a target before moving to the next one. In fact, there is no RO. There is an old man and a teenager who calls cease fires and replaces the target when the range is crowded. But they don't generally stand around to RO anything.

I completely agree that this range isn't very safe during the weekends when it gets crowded becuase like you noticed, it attracts some people who lack safety skills. I generally go and talk to them when I see this, and they all have been very receptive to my suggestions.

This is the only range within a reasonable distance from Austin that lets you draw from a holster, move, and engage in multiple across-lane tagets. This practice is great for action pistol.

I'm still sad that this range is closing. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the info from its owner. I'll have to definitely go visit it more often. If you don't see me post, it'll mean I'm shot :) just kidding. This range isn't that unsafe.

Austin Rifle and Skeet range, anyone?

I'm planning to shoot there this weekend and wonder if anyone would like to join/meet up. The range has 7 yard and 15 yard pistol lines. Runs hot, draws allowed, movement allowed when safe, excellent range... not to mention the friendly staff and free targets.
