I was just giving you a hard time.

Thanks! And don't worry, I take everything from the net w/ some level of doubt :)

And you are completely right, after taking off the MSH, the rest of the components seems to just some out of the pistol when you shake it. This experience was a lot easier than I thought and now I know more about how those safeties work.

The next time, I'll try to get it down to the bare metal. If I get in trouble would you help?

Anyway, from the internet info, it does look pretty easy overall except for the slide stop and safety tube thing...

Also, the net info mentions that when removing the screw bushings there's a good chance they'll get destroyed. So I may not want to remove them.

Yeah, I didn't have anything to go on when I was stripping it. After posting, I searched the net and found a lot of nice tutorials (because I was having trouble w/ reassembling the shear).

I should have searched before I started, but you know... this is one of those "things happen" types where I was initially just wanting to change a magwell.

Attempting to detail strip my S&W 1911

I really should get a manual, but I just wanted to install a magwell.

Anyway... remove the MSH for my magwell installation... then after installation, I noticed that it is very difficult to seat the mags (the plastic base plate of my mags is pushing against the magwell). I had to _really_ slam the mag in to seat them.

Decided that I don't want to do this, so I take off the magwell... then I started to disassemble my pistol.

Here's the result:

Now I have to quickly put thing back before I forget how. But it's so late... will I remember it tomorrow ?
