RV traveling in TX, legal way to carry gun ?
Hi, It's been a while since I'm in TX and on this board. I hope everybody is doing well. I'm planning a road trip thru TX in a rental RV and was wondering if I can keep a loaded hand gun (carry concealed on my person) while I'm in the RV. From what I read, it seems legal to do so in a car if I own t...

Re: How Long Since You Have Been To The Range To Practice ?
I thought I would throw out this question and see how long it has been since you took your daily carry weapon to the range for some practice? I know many members on here practice weekly or at least once a month. I hate to admit it but, I realized this morning that it has been 8 months since I have ...

Re: new to carry observations
Well, I have been carrying some since my plastic arrived a little over a week ago. I am carrying with a Bullard Dual Carry in OWB configuration. I carry a Glock 19. I am a lefty and carry on my left side. Here are some observations: 1. I am over the 1 in the pipe jitters. I carried around the house...

Re: First scary moment while carrying
Since we're sharing stories , recently I was inside a gas station making a purchase . I was wearing a jacket unzipped with my gun holstered at 3 o'clock . Without thinking , I swept my jacket back (out of habit) to reach for my wallet revealing my sidearm . Thank goodness the clerk wasn't pa...

Re: Second ID form
I generally just use a credit card as second form of ID. I never show my CHL unless required to.samobius wrote:How many of you have used your CHL ID as a secondary ID form when, say, opening a new bank account?

Congrats on the new pistol. As for range tips: follow the posted rules and tell the range officer that it's your first time.budroux2w wrote: Any tips on public ranges? I've always shot on private land. Thanks!

Re: Purchasing a Gun with a CHL
It really did cut down on the time (we ran into the store about 10 minutes before closing, already had the pistol on layaway), maybe by half! What took all the time was filling out the danged form. Depends on the store. Some stores ignore the CHL and still make the phone call (I think Sports...

Re: Have you ever accidently displayed your “concealed” carry?
I don't know if I have or not because nobody's given me any indication of displaying it. But over the years, although I've never accidentally exposed (as far as I know), I have exposed it a few times when trying on clothing in a sotre or "gearing up" in my car...but I don't think anybody n...

Re: Will you shoot?
In this hypothetical situation (poll), things are black-and-white where you know who's the GB and you can get away unless you get involved. Interesting.. the ratio of "yes" to "no" votes differs so much than my friends'. But that isn't too surprising given the amount of upstandin...

Will you shoot?
If you encounter a killing in progress and participating in it is dangerous to you (e.g. criminal has a weapon, etc.) but you can get away from it if you just turn around and run away? (Of course, you'd call the cops after you turn around.) I saw a TV show w/ some friends and there's a BG shooting p...

Re: Ready to make my first 1911 purchase
Well, I guess it's time for my first 1911 purchase, but I seem to have a dilemma. Do I buy a production model , ex: Kimber, Springfield, etc., which would be a good choice. Or spend about the same money and get a custom STI from Brazos Custom with a preformance package and hard chrome, like the STI...

Re: Tenants who threatned you
Here's my advise: If you feel your life is in danger, take out your gun and shoot him/her. Otherwise, call the cops.
Aren't you worried that with your relationship so bad that your tenant is going to destroy your property when they move out? I'd start the eviction process immediately.

Re: What to carry?
R I've narrowed my options down to a couple of choices - 1) A Sig P239. It's just a slim, single-stack Lexus  or 2) A Springfield XD9 subcompact AND a Ruger LCP or Bersa Thunder (this choice gives me WAY more carry and dress options). The obvious choice would be #2, but the Sig P239 is such a...

Re: Should have used a revolver for my CHL test
I wonder what is the percent of CHL owners who qualified with a revolver? Less than 10%? hahaha, that's pretty funny. But look at it this way: your pistols haven't droped in value (maybe even increased)... if you didn't buy them 2 years ago and instead put that money in the stock morket, you may ha...
