Re: I'm thinking about buying my first 1911...
I would be more than happy to sell you my 4 inch Colt 1991A1 stainless for $500 if you just want quantity. (Edited for profanity.) I'll give you $250 for it. Bad move, Bonzo. Why so? 1. A $500 1911A1 Colt SS is worth a second and possibly third look; and, 2. More importantly, your reply to the gent...

Re: I'm thinking about buying my first 1911...
Thanks for all of the replies. I would love to buy a Kimber; they sure are pretty. I also want a boat, fishing gear, several more guns and quite a few other things. If I came home with a $1000 gun, my wife would shoot me with it. I'm only 28, but I'm just getting started working on my collection of ...

I'm thinking about buying my first 1911...
What's the least expensive brand of 1911 style pistol I can rely on? Rock Island/Armscor? Springfield? Taurus? I'm not looking for anything pretty (Kimber, Colt, etc), I'm just looking for a good quality gun for the money. Also, I'm not a very big guy, so I'm thinking either a 3" or a 4". ...

Re: What to do after use of concealed handgun
The FWPD officer that taught the course I attended instructed us to do the following: 1. Shoot twice (center of mass - DA's don't like headshots) and evaluate. Repeat as necessary until the situation is diffused (NOTuntil the BG is dead/not moving). 2. Retreat to a safe place (do NOT approach the BG...

Re: definition of single action / double action
I'll stir the pot a little bit more. If you want to simply classify handguns as SA or DA, then from the simplest description, you get: SA - Performs only one action (i.e. causing the firing pin to punch the primer within the cartridge). Another way to look at this is it is releasing the potential en...

Re: Aggie Engineer Seeking New Employment
Just thought I'd kick this back to the top.
I found out last week that I'll be included in the next round of layoffs that are slated to happen on Wednesday, April 1st.
I'm looking for anything engineering-wise within 25 miles of NW Fort Worth, Texas.
Thanks!

Thanks buddy.
I found out that he has the PT111 Pro and Fobus recommends the SP11. I ordered one this morning in left hand.

Will a Taurus PT111 fit in PT140 Holster?
Will a Taurus Millenium PT111 fit in a PT140 holster?
My dad wants a paddle holster for Christmas. Fobus doesn't make a left hand paddle for the PT111, but they do for the PT140. Anybody know if they are compatible?
If not, does anyone know of a left hand paddle holster for the PT111?
Thanks!

Re: Any State/Nat'l Parks Etc. to Shoot Around DFW?
This is the best I can find. From the LBJ Grasslands website : Target Practice Recreational rifle and pistol target shooting on the LBJ Grasslands is closed. On the LBJ’s western border, 380 acres are open to clay pigeon shooting with shotguns. All other areas are closed to target shooting. Informat...

Re: Soccer mom loses PA permit
revoking her concealed-weapons permit was his only recourse because he could not legally confiscate her gun. I'm betting he shouldn't have been able to legally revoke her concealed-weapons permit either. The article isn't clear, but it seems that she has always carried openly (even with the conceal...
