Re: Almost pulled my gun today

First off, allow me to sincerely thank all of you for the input. It has all been very beneficial. Many of you really helped accelerate my learning curve. I also want to make it known that I did not use ANY racial slurs of any kind, even though he had no problem with doing that to me. I know I made a...

Almost pulled my gun today

Ok so here's what happened. I am in Real Estate, and we have a real problem with people who park in no parking zones in the community I manage. We also back up right next to what some people may call "The Ghetto." Well today, I show up and there is a van parked on our Home Owner's Associat...

Re: Threat recognition test

I must say that I never even looked at the ethnicity of the person. I just was trying to figure out what was in their hand! I hope no one pulls a coke can on me! "rlol"

Ballistics will prove that .40 +p ammo cannot match even the lightest 10mm practice loads

Re: Have you ever been drawn on?

I can very happily say that I have never been drawn on. First, I am so happy to hear that you escaped that situation safely. It just goes to show you that you don't know who means you harm in this world, also you have shown how positioning yourself at stoplights can allow you to escape with your lif...

Re: Drawing a Gun on the Bad Guy

Wildscar brings up a good point. If I am able to flee the situation without anyone getting hurt that is obviously the right thing to do. In NO WAY am I itching to pull my gun, and like so many intelligent people on this forum have mentioned in the past...Use your gun as a LAST RESORT. I'm glad to he...

Re: Drawing a Gun on the Bad Guy

Tactical, Thank you for sharing your story with us! It's amazing for me to read what happened to you and to find out that while you were in the heat of the moment you were clear headed, while when it was over you got the shakes. It sounds to me like you handled the situation perfectly, and I would h...

Drawing a Gun on the Bad Guy

I would like to hear from anyone (LEO's as well) who have actually been in a situation where they were forced to draw their weapon in self defense. As CHL's we are prepared, but many of us have never, and hopefully will never, be in a situation where we will need to use our weapon. The only way we c...

Re: Police Ride Along

I would love to have an experience like you had in Utah! I'm really not sure what to expect on my ride along. I've always figured that you just sit with an officer who is on patrol, then while he or she goes up to talk to individuals you stay back in the car and lay low. If anyone else has been on a...

Re: Does anyone else carry a 10mm?

I also bought the Pierce Grips. The same day I ordered my G29, I also ordered a 'Defender' concealment holster from activeprogear.com, then ordered the Pierce grips so that I could get more control for rapid fire purposes. Well built, and no jams! :anamatedbanana

Re: Does anyone else carry a 10mm?

IMHO 10mm is a truly amazing caliber. It is red-hot when you want it to be, and a little slower and heavier when you want it to be based on what you will be using it for. My co-worker (a fellow CHL) just bought a glock 27 (.40 subcompact) over the weekend, and while they both shoot the .40 diameter ...

Does anyone else carry a 10mm?

I am a proud owner of a Sig P220 .45, but recently I found a new caliber that I personally believe is superior to all others in the semi-auto group. The 10mm is, IMHO, the most versitile caliber you can carry, because you can shoot anywhere from 135gr. bullets at 1600fps / 767 ft.lbs. to 235gr. roun...

Re: WHY?

For me it was mindnumbingly horrible...I swear to each and every one of you friends that I checked DPS' website like 5 times a day to see if it was approved yet. Called em like 5-10 times to make sure that they didn't forget about me and so on. Now granted, for me it was a little tougher because the...

Re: Police Ride Along

well said Larryh! I'm sure the officer would not have a problem with me grabbing that (especially since I am a CHL) if, God forbid, he is getting shot at. :fire
