Re: Links for gun safe info in the works

I was working I contracting gig out in Iraq last year, and our office had a Big old Red Head Gunsafe in it, with and electronic lock. One of the Marines I was training had come in from out of town, and had a rifle and a pistol. In our area, he only needed one or the other, as there was almost zero t...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

While in the Marine Corps, I was selected from among my peers to be taught Arabic as our military rushed to fill the need for more Arabic Linguists in a post 9/11 military. While undergoing this intensive language training for over 18 months, my teachers assigned every student an Arabic name, mine h...

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"

LOL someone had some fun with the clothes iron :smilelol5: Every barracks room I ever laid my head down in had a similar burn on the floor. Two days after our barracks got new carpet, there were some shenanigans while my roomie was ironing his uniform. Our behinds were a little raw after having bee...

Re: Quote of the Day

In the interest of explaining that quote, the leader of the free world, regardless of who he is, can't do much without a capable body of advisors. Going against the wishes of these advisors can serve to alienate them, so unless it is something extremely important, I can understand why he accepted th...

Wisconsin man's constitutional right trampled?

I included this in the 'off-topic' section because I'm not sure where else it fit, but I feel the story deserves a place on this forum. the Link is: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2008/05/07/ldt.gov.guns.cnn?iref=videosearch A summary of events based on the above video is as follows -An a...

Re: Jerry Patterson Takes Oath of Office Seriously

I often feel disenfranchised when it comes to modern politics, because when I head to the polls I usually have to decide which candidate I disagree with least. I hope to have an alternative to that in the future with Mr. Patterson.

Re: This is very sad, but let us all learn from this.

I understand that we're discussing the fact that the NDer in the story was military, and that some soldiers don't spend alot of time with their weapons, but I believe that the point is that this guy had received training. This just stresses the fact that it can happen to anyone. I've seen it with th...

Re: Quote of the Day

I've heard that he is often quoted, so if I'm not adding anything new, let me know, but one of my favorites is Robert Heinlein. "An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life." "You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. D...

Re: 3 Gun Shotgun Suggestions

I want to get a home defense shotgun, but I don't know where to start. I've looked up a couple things online, and I wanted to get some advice from the more experienced folks. I was looking at the Benelli M4 (MSRP $1200-$1400), and a Remington 870 ($ A lot less). Now, when it comes to shotguns, I'm p...

Re: Houston Chronicle article on CHL delays

Part of the reason TDPS might be having trouble with compared to Florida is that Florida has had a couple more years experience issuing CHL. And as for Utah, it appears that they process as many applications a quarter as Texas does a month, so that might be a numbers problem. http://bci.utah.gov/CFP...

I've been looking at home defense shotguns that don't have a buttstock, just a pistol grip. Anybody have any opinion about it?

Spend some time in Fun places overseas (most of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East) Either professionally, or as a tourist, and public restrooms will seem incredibly tame... Granted, thats only the 24 years of life experience speaking. It gives 'Anywhere, Anytime' a new meaning.
