Well the same thing couldn't be said about other parts in that they are not "the most common reason". If you want to carry spares to address the uncommon reasons as well, be my guest. I choose to carry a spare mag because it is "the most common reason".

A spare mag is more than just a capacity issue. The most common reason for semiauto malfunctions are magazine issues. A person can find their gunfight is over after they fire just the round in the chamber if something is wrong with their magazine.
Couldn't the same be said about the firing pin or the recoil spring or the ejector, etc., etc?

I have seven rounds in my SA 1911 Lightweight Compact. If the gunfight lasts longer than that, I'm just er,...uh...drilled.
