That Onan was a dude, wasn't he? Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Matthew 7:1 but discussions of religion are not allowed and I'm weary of being censored.apostate wrote:Somehow I get the feeling you're not talking about Genesis 38:9Oldgringo wrote:What does the good book say about that?
I was thinking also of the Indian expression about ...walking a mile in another's shoes...

...there's a big difference between judging(condemning) and discerning from the facts given what happened...the country's in a big mess because it's become politically incorrect and unpopular for us as citizens and even pastors from the pulpit to call sin sin...and say "this is right and this is wrong"...being compassionate and merciful doesn't mean saying "that's OK"...it means saying "You did something wrong, but there is forgiveness available..."
...how can we clean up our society...if we can't name the dirt??? all any of us can do is to gather the facts as presented, in this case by a news article, and draw conclusions from them...the Good Book is full of examples where the sin was forgiven...after it was called exactly what it was, and the sinner repented...so shame on us??? NOT...

I'm not prepared/qualified to comment on her morals; however, I do think that she may not be the brightest bulb on the tree.speedsix wrote:...in other words, a trashy woman got her son killed...if she hadn't been out cattin' 'round, none of it would have happened...what an awful trade she made...what an awful thing to live with...
