RCL promoted the sale of adult beverages in their store - so the sign says. If you wanted to take it to your room they add a "50% corkage fee". This is clearly a ploy to force the passengers to drink in the lounges at inflated prices with tips. They even 'hold' booze you buy on the ship or in ports until you leave the ship at your debarkation station. Got my fill of cuban cigars though and smoked the last one entering Galveston channel. My orthopedic doc says they don't even bother to take them away from you anymore if it is only a box or less. Not sure I want to test that yet...

The last time Mrs. Oldgringo and I took a cruise (out of Galveston), we had to go through an electronic gauntlet similar to the airport and our luggae was x-rayed. They wouldn't even let us take our own 'hooch' aboard. That was 4 years ago and this is today?
