It always amazes me what people think they can do. Part of our subdivision backs on an old quarry that's now a couple of ponds. Cliffs of about 80 feet or so. Each owner's property ends about 10-12 feet from the (current) edge of the cliff. Evidently several of the owner's along there think they can exercise eminent domain over this area and the two on the ends have extended their fence to the edge of the cliff, with gates, and put up signs that basically say "this is ours, keep out". I remember this story, what wasn't mentioned in this article is that the "our levee" statement that the shooter referred to was actually city owned public property. In our local paper they had a layout of the area and they said they left their property and killed someone on public property. something to this effect.
I think they should be charged with murder because they chose to shoot indiscriminately at vehicle's which by what was said in the paper not even their property before having any kind of inkling that they posed a threat.
