I was able to talk the counter guy into giving me two boxes. I walked out with 500 rounds of 9mm and a brick of Remington .22 lr (525)...it was a good day!

:thumbs2:
Which Academy?

There were still about 50 boxes of Magtech at Cabelas in Buda on the 4th... for $20.99...

Re: CTD - Blazer 380 ammo 69.97

bkjunk wrote:Check out this serious case of price gouging. 50 rounds of Blazer 380, steel case for a low, low price of $69.95. Don't forget to read the reviews, they must be posted by the CTD employees themselves.

I originally saw this on the 1911 forum --> http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=229097. Apparently some of them did not believe it, and called to confirm. Apparently it's true, they will charge whatever they think the market will bear.

On a side note, three weeks ago on a Sunday morning, I dropped by a Walmart in San Antonio and picked up a 100 pack of WWB 380 for 31 bucks. The shelf was full of 380 and 380 only, but I only needed one box, so I bought one box.

I think this is some sort of an insider joke. The reviews are bogus. I'll bet they got a few boxes and someone at the break room table said "we should make some silly reviews and post this stuff for sell at $70. :smilelol5: "

Sad thing is that they probably have had a few takers.

Re: ammo on sale

FWIW:
As of noon today Academy in Shertz/Selma has about 25 boxes of Winchester Ranger 9mm NATO (LEO Only :eek6  ) for $21.99 each and 4 boxes of Winchester Super X 147 grain FMJ for $19.99 each as well. I bought 4 boxes of the Ranger :banghead:

Interesting side note:
All of the ammo price tags have been removed and what little ammo they do have behind the counter has been moved to the far left of the shelf where in the past it was organized by caliber smallest to largest, left to right. I suppose this means they are not expecting to have any stock in the near future...

Thanks for the link but I don't think I have enough time for UPS ground. That's what I get for dragging my feet...

I have been to multiple WalMart stores as well as Academy - no luck. My next stop is Cabela's (somewhat far for San Antonio)...
If you are looking for FMJ save your gas, we had two Cabelas associates say they had no range ammo.

ETA: If you are willing to pay gun shop price, Nagels said they have 9, 40 and 45 but are limiting purchases to 2 boxes...

EATA: We got word from the Shertz WalMart sporting goods man that he is going to order the remainder of 9mm which is in the warehouse. If another does not get it first it will arrive on Friday.
