Man, who cares? Get it if it fits your needs and don't worry about it. I still have the N70 that I bought 12 years ago.

I got one and it is a fantastic camera. Don't get it at Best [?] Buy, though as you can get a better deal on ebay if you are patient. I got a factory reconditioned body for < $500

I could care less about all the features; I was more interested in the image size.

The advantage I see with Nikon is that, with the exception of the early non-AI lenses (and, of course, their screwmount rangefinder lenses), you can mount any lens on any body and take pictures with it. So, if you have an old Nikon-mount lens that is just awesome and you don't want to part with it, you can stick it on your new DSLR body. Not so with Canon.
