Reconsidering, I think you’re right. Just like when the Army misappropriated the Field Artillery’s Caisson Song to become the Army Song. I was upset until I realized that the entire US Army now stands to attention when they hear

Yeah, but the Yankees’ll never celebrate the holiday properly. There’ll be BLM demonstrations and calls to end “systemic racism” and whatnot, but no real rejoicing of the new-found freedom in the spirit of 1865 Galveston.
