Re: Another attack in webster by two women

Thanks for the replies! :txflag: How about take the decoy wallet and just throw it on the ground at your feet and back away a few steps? I've seen a succesful story or two where this tactic was used... :bigear: It may just give you the time/distraction you need to assess the situation and make a decision on whether to shoot, run, draw and find cover etc.
But I'm more likely to take the bat away from some that small.
I was kind of thinking the same thing.
OC would be a good option too.
I didn't think about it, but OC would be a great option. Maybe one of the longer range kimber guardian angels. Has anyone ever used one? How accurate are they and are they easy to hit the target with?

Another attack in webster by two women

This is the email that was sent out to students. I personally know a few students who were displaced to the webster/clear lake area due to Ike. What would you guys do? I know it's just a couple women with bats, but would you consider shooting? Maybe just draw and try to scare them off?
All Campus Members,
Crime Alert

On Monday, April 6, 2009 at approximately 6:40pm, officers were dispatched to the Hobby Lobby store located at 20091 IH 45 Freeway in reference to a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that victim was robbed by two black females. The suspects approached the victim and demanded her purse, and when she refused the suspects assaulted her with using some type of wooden bat and fists. Suspect #1 is described as being 18-25 years of age, approximately 5’-0” to 5’-6”tall, weighing 115-120 lbs, with a “wild looking unbraided afro”. Suspect #2 is described as being in her 40’s, approximately 5’-6”, and weighing 125-135 lbs, also with a “wild looking unbraided afro”. The suspects then fled the scene in an older gold colored 4 door sedan.

These suspects match the description in two similar robberies which also occurred in Webster, on Wednesday, April 1st. This information can be found online at http://www.cityofwebster.com/index.asp?NID=629" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; <http://www.cityofwebster.com/index.asp?NID=629>

Anyone that shops or lives in the Webster area should pay special attention to their surroundings and to anyone who takes a sudden interest in them, while these two are on the loose. If you see something that makes you uneasy, do not hesitate to notify the store manager or store security of your suspicions. At the very least they can escort you to your car and politely check out your suspicions.

It is always a good idea to limit the property in your purse while shopping, so that your whole life is not inside if someone takes it away from you. You won’t feel the need to fight over it, if you know your important stuff is not in it. By keeping your wallet, phone and keys in your pocket and only carrying makeup and other bulky essentials in your purse, you would still be able to call for help, drive home and avoid getting your ID stolen during such a robbery. At the same time, you can avoid getting injured during the event if you give up your purse on demand and look for an opportunity to run. Once you are away from the robbers, scream and yell for others to see what’s happened. Get the best description you can get and look for a license plate number if you see the robbers in a car. Your goal is avoid being a crime victim. But, if you are, you want to get through it without being injured.

Call the police ASAP and give them all that you learned during and after the robbery as soon as you escape from the situation.
Is the highlighted portion of the email good/bad advice???
