Yep.
I bought a 100-round box of Winchester USA (the white box) 165 gr. FMJ .40 S&W earlier this week for $21.88 at Wal-Mart in Hobbs, NM.
That's what I usually use for practice ammo.
It seems accurate, reliable, and about as economical as anything commercially available. You can find it anywhere and buying it at Wal-Mart makes it the most affordable practice ammo I've come across (except maybe some commercial reloads I used to get at Targetmaster in Garland when I lived in the Dallas area).
That's
much cheaper than the current prices at

I'm looking for a good online deal on Federal Hydra-Shok 155 gr. .40 S&W. That's my carry load and no one in Hobbs stocks it. I've been meaning to get to Lubbock to look around, but I've been saying that for months. So if anyone knows a place it Lubbuck or Odessa or Midland with good deals on Hydra-Shok, let me know. But I expect to have to order online and am wondering who's got the best prices.
Midway has it for $22.99 for a box of 20.

I'm pretty sure I can get it cheaper than that at a gunshop, if I could find a gunshop that carried it around here.
Once upon a time, I got a slammin' deal on a couple cases (500 rounds per case, discounted when bought by the case and further discounted on a Christmas sale or some such) from Midway. That's the only time I ever bought ammo online and the reason I'm using them as an example - only place I know. But I don't see any bulk deals on my ammo there now.
