Re: Ladies, need advice for revolver purchase
1. Take Charles up on his offer. He is an excellent teacher. 2. PSC (Pearland Shooting Club check out website ) has a great women's program 3. Look into a 22lr pistol as starter and training gun. I probably shoot 20 times as much ammo from my Ruger mkIII 22/45 as I do from my 1911 and a baby could r...

Re: Competitive shooting
What kinds of guns do you like to shoot? How athletic are you? Can you accept being back of the pack behind old fat guys, grey haired little old ladies and bubblegum chewing teen girls? Competitive shooting can quickly consume all disposable income and spare time but can be enjoyed on a modest budge...

Yes come to the dark side. Our weapons are the divinely inspired designs of John Moses Browning (pbuh). They are crafted from the strongest steels created, purified and shaped in the fires of forges symbolic of the very creation of our universe. Our caliber of choice, the 45acp will surpass Zeus's t...

Re: Anybody know what this is?
The shotgun pistols like the Bond Derringer and Taurus judge are still handguns and therefore are primarily intended to be carried on person to provide immediate response to surprise attack. In order to keep size and weight down, limits on ammo size and capacity are incurred. Home defense tools have...

Re: Lula Uploader
Only problem I have had using for several years now is that 2 of them walked out of my bag (purely by accident I'm sure but the only thing I have ever had disappear at range) third one is attached with wire. One of the end pockets of my range bag has tools and spare parts and therefore always stiff....

Re: Gunsmith for night sights
I agree on Ed V. If you need any millwork done. Pure genius.
I installed truglo tfo sights on a customer's springfield and had Ed do the millwork. His Kimber dovetail sight cuts were better than the ones I have seen on Kimbers. Reasonable cost and quick turn around.

SELL? ? What are you thinking? Don't you know that everytime you sell a gun an angel loses his wings? I have only sold guns when it was the only way I could feed my kids. And lost several ounces of heart tissue and at least a pint of blood. On the other hand I have given almost as many guns as gifts...

Hang it on the pitbull's collar? ![Jester :biggrinjester:](./images/smilies/biggrinjester.gif)
I hace the COM lockboxes plus use the same camo technique but mainly because I use passenger floorboad as trash bag instead of littering.

To unload just the chambered round on a 336 press in on the loading gate while cycling the lever so that the next round in the tube doesn't enter the elevator

Re: 185 gr. FMJ Bullets ??
I use berry's 185gr hbrn. They are plated instead of jacketed but actually that means they work better for shooting steel plates. They are much easier to load than lead and feed just like a 230 fmj.

I don't think that counts as "stealing a gun"
Wouldn't it be "taking a war trophy"

Re: Good Friend Got Into A Gun Fight
Arrest vs detention can be tricky and my personal decision is that I will consider myself under arrest the moment any physical restraint is applied and act accordingly. I base my statement about handcuffs being "technically" an arrest on my understanding of the legal decisions. This link p...

Re: Good Friend Got Into A Gun Fight
If the phrase "be arrested" was modified by any adverb indicating chance or probability like "may, can, are likely or even will", your instructor was informing you of what could happen. Using deadly force violates the primary statues against assault and homicide and you are subje...

Re: What should I do?
AR next is good advice. I strongly suggest you purchase one of the 22lr conversions at the same time. It will allow a lot more practice for less money, makes a great platform for teaching new shooters and gives you an effective small game gun as well. I love my CMMG conversion and have put hundreds ...
