The fines are per sign, per day.

Is there a reason NOT to inundate them with forms?
No legal reason, but I don't want the media and zoos to point to the "gun community" and say we're just trying to be obstructive. There's every reason not to bury the AG's office with complaints and that's the next step in the process.

Chas.
I agree. I also think an OC rally on New Year's day is not a good idea. It may be legal but will bring the wrong amount and type of attention to what we are trying to do at the zoo.
What!!? At the Fort Worth Zoo? Oh please tell me it's not at the zoo. :banghead:

This is a very bad idea:

The media, Lon Burnam, the MOMs and other anti-gunners would have a field day with this! Coverage would be all over the evening news and this would be the environment that the AG would have to deal with if/when it files suit against the City of Fort Worth.

I just stopped and faxed my affidavit and documents to the attorney general's office. When I get home in a few minutes I will upload those for Charles.
Thanks you! Fort Worth Zoo is especially important in view of former Rep. Lon Burnam's lie he told in a hearing in 2013. No elected official should get away with what he did.

Re: Fort Worth Zoo Daycare

Someone needs to see and photograph the signs, serve the 3-day notice, then file the AG complaint. I'll file the complaint, if someone will fill out the affidavit and send it to me with a photo.

Re: Fort Worth Zoo Daycare

Filing a complaint or notice regarding an unenforceable 30.06 sign/notice is not reporting a crime because it's not a crime. It's a civil violation. Therefore, information contained in the complaint is not treated as is a criminal complaint. I do wonder why personal information was not redacted. If it were me, I'd send an Open Records Request asking for copies of all ORRs received that ask for complaints/notices filed under SB273.

Don't people realize there are SOME THINGS that DON'T BELONG AT DAY CARE?

I speak, of course, of things like Bengal tigers and king cobras actually on the premises of day care facilities. Is that even legal?

I've heard of a day care facility with the gall to keep mature, predatory lions powerful enough to fling a child all the way from the large cat compound to the gorilla house, where there are primates powerful enough to fling child-size wads of poo all the way back at the cats.

Something must be done. This is happening RIGHT NOW at a well-known day care on Colonial Parkway in Fort Worth. (Mind your step while strolling between the primate house and the large cat compound.)

:biggrinjester:
I wonder if there are any state laws or rules against dangerous animals in daycare centers? That would be interesting!

Charles, is there any plan for TFC to host a list of places that have been given notice and the AG been notified, along with the date of notification? I think that would be a very useful tool to see the status of things. Just wondering.
I haven't thought about that, but it's a good idea. It would give us a great resource, if people will report the information.

Re: Fort Worth Zoo Daycare

Does anyone know if the Fort Worth Zoo removed it's 30.06 signs?

Daycare centers are not off-limits per TPC §§46.03 or 46.035, so it doesn't matter that the Zoo is licensed as a daycare center. The rules applying to daycare centers concerning guns do not change the provisions of SB273 or TPC §30.06(e), but they may result in the zoo losing its daycare center license.
