I'm too mad to comment at this time. I'm going to draft an open letter to Governor Perry sometime next week and I hope our Forum Family will endorse the letter by contacting the Governor in support.

I'm trying to find out what happened. It's my understanding the House amended the committee report. If so, the House must have changed their rules because conference committee reports have always been subject to a single up or down vote without amendments.

If the choices are 1) HB508 passes with the Senate amendment; or 2) HB508 does not pass, which would yo choose?

Yes and I don't anticipate any problems either. They have passed both bodies with amendments so each must go before their respective bodies to either concur or not. If not, then a conference committee can be convened. I expect the Senate to concur on SB1907, but I don't know about the House on HB508. The Carona amendment may be stripped off, but if so, I don't know if the Senate will approve the House change.
