This is what DPS teaches CHL Instructors. :thumbsup: When someone is trying to kill you, you shoot to stop and you continue shooting until the threat no longer exists. Rarely will this be after the first shot.

Welcome to the forums. I'm glad to see more young folks getting involved. I think most of us grew up with at least some misconceptions and misinformation about self-defense, much of which was caused by Hollywood. You will find a lot of people here with a wealth of knowledge and experience and who are dedicated to helping others avoid some of our mistakes. I can assure you, "trial by fire" isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'd rather sit at the side of a wise man and listen any day. I especially appreciate the fact that you reevaluated your earlier posts and edited them. I've had to do the same thing a few times and I know it's not often fun.
