That's a great story Chuck!

I had something similar happen about a year ago. I went to lunch with a client and saw a Harris County Constable (can't recall which precinct) having lunch with a very nice looking young lady. I noticed he was carrying a 1911 with the mag clearly not seated. As I passed by, I leaned over an whispered "Your mag isn't fully seated."

He was startled and said "Er . . . it's a 10 round mag. I'm a firearms instructor for my department." I smiled, said "I’m an instructor too," and walked on to our table. He kept looking over at me and I knew what he was thinking. "Do I push the mag in while that guy's here, or do I wait until I leave." He finally pushed it in and never looked my way again.

We're all human and make silly mistakes.

Chas.
