I don't know why your entries are not "taking." I've tested it and it works for me, just be sure you are correctly typing their screen name. You can copy a member's name to the entry forum, or you can use the "find" feature to verify spelling.

I don't really see an benefit to the "Friends" list as you apparently have to access your User Control Panel (UCP) to see if any Friends are online. If they are, it's easy to click on their name and send a PM. However, you can just look at the bottom of the main screen to see who is on (assuming they didn't log in as "hidden") and do the same thing.

The Foe's List is self-explanatory. If you don't want to see someone's posts, then put them on the Foe's List. I don't know how this works when someone quotes a person on your Foe's List; you may or may not see the quote.
