I've been wanting to hit the Love Shack and Fred's. Got a buddy that frequents Fred's, says it is GREAT! We used to have the Tarrant County Independent Hamburger Company in Grapevine and it was GREAT!fickman wrote: Specialty:
Love Shack. (Try the Dirty Love Burger with the fried quail egg. I do mustard only for sauce, though.)
Maybe it's nostalgia:

Still to try:

My curiosity got the best of me, I've gotta check out Club Schmitz sometime. Nice article on the place:jimlongley wrote: Adairs in Deep Ellum, and

I like 5-Guys...but you nailed it on the atmosphere. Whether Bottlecap or 5-Guys has better burgers...well, we should have a foodie outing to have a healthy (or not so healthy ) debate on that! I *really* dig the cajun fries at 5-Guys.RoyGBiv wrote:Bottlecap and Twisted Root are consistently good... But 5-Guys is the hands-down winner for burgers..
Too bad 5-guys has a strip mall, fast food atmosphere.. 5-Guys burgers served at Bottlecap would be a big winner.
Never did take a liking to Kincaids... Just ok.
Agree with you on Kincaids...to me it all tastes GREAT...except the actual burger/meat itself is just plain, it is not bad, but it is just plain. I do really like the deviled eggs though. My opinion, of course.
What I do from time to time at Bottlecap - bring a bottle of Island Style Teriyaki Sauce (it has a decent amount of soy) and have them cook the meat patties and onions with the sauce...oh man...and then add Cheddar, Mayo, Pineapple, Lettuce and Onions (Raw, in addition to the Grilled Onions done in the sauce)...the sauce just enhances the meaty flavor...oh man...so good...here's a pic:
