Re: Palmer - Speeding

I'm not advocating speeding, mind you, but I think this (the Passport 9500ix) is a WONDERFUL tool to make sure that you are *not* speeding at "inopportune times".... :biggrinjester:

http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ix-details.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's the most $$$ I've ever spent on a detector...but WOW...it has saved my bacon more times than I can tell you...and that was just from one 1,900 mile trip (got radared at least 23 times, so I guess I could tell you that it at least alerted me 23 times, a mile or more ahead, and I made sure I was not speeding...the neat thing is that due to GPS it displays your speed on the display, so no need to look down at your speedo...yeah yeah yeah, I know, that's what cruise is for...but "maybe" mine is set a little higher? I dunno....).

Yes indeed! I have made the Grapevine to Houston drive MANY times and usually I will see a speed trap of some type on I-45 between I-20 and Ennis (sometimes I'll see Dallas County Sheriffs running radar on I-45 South of Dallas to I-20 as well). A lot of small towns in that area. I usually grab 5, sometimes 10 over, but that's it. Learned the "hard way" years ago, got popped for 11 over in Wilmer, Palmer, etc....the friendly (I do mean that) officer said 11 over and he'll issue a citation, 10 and under is just fine, but don't push the line. :tiphat: That has typically been my experience over the years/miles.
