Re: Jurisdiction
How is that an overstepping of power? The "School" police should have jurisdiction in, the school, and maybe a mile within the school. But giving them power in almost every COUNTY in Texas? Too much. But thats just one mans opinion. You sound totally paranoid with that statement. I wouldn...

Re: WTB: S&W 686 or 686 SSR
Thanks. It seems that no one has an extra one laying around that they are looking to sell. Will hit the gun show in a couple of weeks. If can't find one there for around the same price, will give them a call. Garry That's because it's a damn fine gun. Mine just came in today. I've been drooling ove...

I just bought one of these:

It was by far the best price I could find.

Re: Off duty carry
I am not perfect and that is why I carry a perpetual grudge against all LEOs who have a superiority complex towards "civilians" and those who have an impertinent and condescending attitude against law-abiding citizens. When you are looking for this attitude, you are more likely to find it.

Re: Off duty carry
Right - the police are "experienced confrontationalists", yet we continue to see examples of them letting their emotions get the better of them by piling on and beating the crap out of people they were chasing - AFTER that person was restrained. Yeah - experienced... totally trustworthy.....

Re: Off duty carry
It's sort of an unwritten rule that we always asked the judge's permission to have our off duty weapon on us. Usually the baliff will relay the request. Most judges will ask that you do carry it. Plus, this was just a civil suit. I have had over 60 felony arrests and court trials and never had a co...

Re: Off duty carry
IMHO, anyone that is not directly serving in the capacity as a bailiff for that court should be required to disarm before entering the building - even (and especially) LEOs. This includes ANY weapon, lethal or less-than-lethal (mace, pepper spray, batons, etc). Cops are just as likely to lose contr...

http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1264&p=11341&hilit=rosenthal+arrest#p11341 UCW is a misdemeanor, and various Harris County LEOs arrest for it three to five thousand times a year. It generally is not reported. We have no idea how many people were persecute...

Re: Milwaukee police chief above the law
That is what I meant (Motorist Protection Act). Is he saying that Ft. Worth will arrest a CHL for carrying or if you do not have a CHL and a gun is found in your car? According to my CHL instructor the FT Worth D.A. had instructed the LEOs to arrest for a weapon in the vehicle and no CHL. Next time...

Re: "When Seconds Count: Stopping Active Killers"
Love the article and the obvious facts that it points out.
Where else to go kill people but somewhere that guns are prohibited?
I've only heard of one shooting at a gun range, and that was just a couple of days ago where 2 LEOs were killed.

Re: CHL Arrested in Fort Worth
Cops get their egos bruised a little bit by a cyclist, suddenly they have prove his point by being overbearing jerks. Dude would not have been "evading arrest" if they weren't chasing him down in order to pump up their egos. They wouldn't have left whoever else they were harassing to go c...

I'm sure the whole story would make a good officer training scenario.
