Accused pedophile and wealthy Manhattan financier Jeffrey Epstein was found injured and in a fetal position inside his cell at a New York City jail, according to sources close to the investigation.

Epstein, who is being held in Metropolitan Correctional Center during his trial for conspiracy and sex trafficking, was found semi-conscious with marks on his neck, two sources told News 4. Investigators are trying to piece together exactly what happened, saying details remain murky.

Epstein may have tried to hang himself in the lower Manhattan lockup, according to sources who spoke with WNBC-TV.

But another source said Epstein’s injuries were not serious, and raised the possibility that he may have used the incident to try obtain a transfer from the jail.

There is a certain level of society, both in politics and big business, above which the inner circle members nearly ALWAYS escape the justice they deserve. This inner circle transcends party affiliation and ideology. The Swamp takes care of its own. THAT is why so many Americans are beginning to believe that the only respite for the rest of us is to burn the whole shebang down and start over again—beginning with an originalist interpretation of the Constitution.

In court papers, federal prosecutors have argued that they did not violate the Crime Victims’ Rights Act because no federal charges were ever filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, an argument that was later dismissed by the judge.

That is the most circular piece of illogic from prosecutors I’ve ever seen.... It goes like this: (A) They gave Epstein a sweetheart deal by declining to file federal charges, thereby robbing his victims of justice, but (B) they didn’t rob the victims of justice because they never filed the federal charges.

One wonders what Epstein had on them.
