At a couple of spots where I’ve gassed up along I-40 on my way to California, I’m pretty sure I was on tribal land. I was carrying at the time. I also saw zero tribal police, although I did occasionally spot a NM or AZ state trooper car. But these places are just gas/food stops along the modern-day “mother road”. It would not do to harass customers and drive off business, which is 99% NOT Native American. So my guess is that, unless you’re acting a complete fool, you’d never see tribal police in those places.
