In retrospect, I can live with either E.Marqueze's or labrat's solutions. But it needs to be a deep, dark, SOLITARY, confinement, with no possibility of his being in even covert communication with other prisoners. The only debate becomes: "what kind of medical care will he receive during his confinement?" I'd be comfortable with none. It might be worth it every couple of weeks to slip some LSD into his water, to kind of help the slide into insanity along.
Yes, I want him punished, but also I don't want to spend $50K or $100K or whatever it costs per year to keep someone like that in a deep dark hole.......not so long as there is still one of his victims alive, struggling to cope with a life made much harder by having been crippled. Let them have that money instead. I don't think he ought to get but the barest minimum of regular care to keep him alive. Minimum number of daily calories. Minimum water. Nothing more. No exercise. And if he gets sick, he dies. Plain and simple.
Also, his identity has to be kept concealed from his guards because, sooner or later, sure as God made little green apples, somebody would talk, even if it is unintentionally letting it slip to a spouse that one of his prisoners is Hasan........and once again that dirtbag gets his name into the press.
If his prisoner status MUST be made public, then let him be kept naked, chained to a big rock or a tree, in the gorilla enclosure at the Fort Worth Zoo.......and dab a little bit of female gorilla pheromones behind each of his ears....
Let's see........how creative can I get?

Does he deserve death? You betcha. In any other case; I'd help them do it.
Does he deserve to be a "hero" to others, who would do the same thing if given the chance? Nope.
To prevent that encouragement, I'd pay to have him sealed in a SuperMax prison forever.
No outside contact allowed; no speaking to or from a guard or other prisoner; Solitary confinement; in the dark; forever.
And don't send him to Gitmo. Too close to other terrorists.
Just my 2 cents.

How about execution, with no funeral, and no public announcement. He just.......disappears, never to be seen or heard of again.....and his body is fed to the hogs. When reporters ask, the official answer should be "what Major Hasan? We know of nobody by that name."E.Marquez wrote:Execution and rights to a funeral is what he wants and what serves his motivation most.
I'd prefer to see him suffer, for years in a prison like Leavenworth. Having escorted a convicted rapist there many years ago.... I have no doubt it has not gotten any better with age..
Left to rot and die there for years in max security and solitary, and then quietly disposed of by cremation with ashes scattered at sea.
Forever gone and no place for the true believers to pilgrimage to.. plus,, there will be many of them who will not believe he died.....and forever wast time and lives searching for the "truth"...
Ya Im ok with that

Re: Breaking..... Hasan guilty on all counts..
The judge seemed determined not to allow either the prosecution or defense submit much evidence of premeditation......like when he SAID he planned it out....that was inadmissible. But they found him guilty of premeditated murder anyway. The prosecution is asking for the death penalty. By his own admission, he is a "soldier who switched sides." Back when America was America, that meant the firing squad. He was by his own admission an enemy combatant disguised in a U.S. Army uniform.
It will be interesting to see if the Army has the testicular fortitude to execute him. In another thread, I had opined that he should be asked to which country he wanted to be repatriated; and then armed with that information, we should put him on a C130, wrapped in pork fat encrusted with ground up chicharones, taken him up to 30,000 ft above the desired country, and shove him out the cargo door.........without a parachute.
Upon reflection, I don't really care what method they use, as long as they don't screw around with it, and they just kill him sooner rather than later. We don't need a "martyr" rotting in Leavenworth.

Here we go..... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/23/[abbreviated profanity deleted] ... ll-counts/
The military hasn't executed anyone since 1961. I wonder if they'll have the stones to do it now.Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan was found guilty on all 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder Friday, making him eligible for the death penalty.
The sentencing phase of his trial was set to begin Monday.
A military jury deliberated for roughly one day before announcing the verdict.
