Internal cost estimates from 17 of the nation's largest insurance companies indicate that health insurance premiums will grow an average of 100 percent under Obamacare, and that some will soar more than 400 percent, crushing the administration's goal of affordability.

New regulations, policies, taxes, fees and mandates are the reason for the unexpected "rate shock," according to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which released a report Monday based on internal documents provided by the insurance companies. The 17 companies include Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaiser Foundation.

The report found that individuals will face "premium increases of nearly 100 percent on average, with potential highs eclipsing 400 percent. Meanwhile, small businesses can expect average premium increases in the small group market of up to 50 percent, with potential highs over 100 percent."

We pay for my wife's insurance out of pocket, and it strains our ability to pay for it. I've been essentially uninsurable for several years now and have had to pay for my medical costs out of pocket. If my wife's insurance goes up 100%, she will become uninsured.

This is what democrats did....both democrat voters, and democrat politicians. The nation's healthcare system was an "ailing patient" before Obamacare, but democrats used the legislative equivalent of bleeding and leeching and in the process, the system exsanguinated. Democrats killed it. This story is going to gain traction too.

That actually occurred to me too.....momentarily.....but I don't think so. One of the things that the Press guards most jealously is its ability to report unfettered. They are obviously not averse to cozying up to an administration as they have done with Obama until now, but what the administration has done here is the relationship equivalent of a jealous boyfriend spying on his girlfriend's cellphone messages and contacts. It's a relationship killer. They've gone too far. Rather than a distraction from the Benghazi and IRS scandals, this will serve to confirm to the "mainstream" media that their affections have been misplaced.

Republicans in the House are investigating or have investigated the following major administration scandals:

• Fast and Furious: momentarily dead because of
  1. executive privilege claims and
  2. the MSM's decision to bury the story and not follow where it leads
  3. the general public being somewhat ignorant about the implications.
  , but look for this one to be revived if any of the following turn up even a mention of impeachment;
• Benghazi: after initial overt attempts to either bury the story or report it favorably, the MSM has
  1. realized that it isn't going to go away, because
  2. the public is becoming distrustful of the administration and that will affect the MSM's relevance with the public if the MSM looks the other way,
  3. the "only" people killed by Fast & Furious were one "lowly" cop and a bunch of Mexicans that "nobody cares about," but the public will not let it drop when 4 American heros are killed overseas and the administration tries to bury it.
• Now add to the above that the shibboleth of a "free press" has been undermined by the administration's spying on AP, and congressional republicans have announced their intention to investigate this also.

Barack Hussein Obama is, AT BEST, a lame duck president for the rest of his term. Richard Nixon had ONE scandal to deal with: Watergate. Nixon resigned before he could be impeached. Bill Clinton had ONE scandal to deal with: Monicagate. Clinton was impeached and survived it, but his administration was gelded by the experience. Obama has FOUR scandals (assuming that he doesn't shank himself again)—all very real and not contrived—to deal with: Fast & Furious; Benghazi; IRS "enemies list;" and now the AP spying scandal.

I think his presidency will survive, severely hamstrung, for the simple reason that borderline traitors without a shred of personal integrity hold the majority in the Senate. The House might arrive at the conclusion to impeach him (it probably won't), but the Senate would have to try him if articles of impeachment were filed, and they won't because Harry Reid lacks the integrity to let the process go forward.

My guess is that Boehner is aware of all of this, and that even if he had the stones to proceed, it would be a pointless exercise that might actually damage what he (Boehner) CAN do going forward; and that is this........ The House is already making noise about repealing/defunding Obamacare. Add to that the fact that going forward, not one single major initiative of Obama's is likely to survive the House. No more administration spending packages. No administration social engineering initiatives. No more administration wealth redistribution. No more administration tax proposals. (Probably) no more administration requested spending ceiling increases. None of that.

Going forward, the best the administration can hope for is that there will be no roll-back of any of its already passed "achievements." Being who they are, and believing what they believe, they will still try to put forth more of their subversive agenda, but Congress won't be having any more of it. The Senate can do whatever it wants.....or not do, which is more like their current record....but without the cooperation of the House, nothing that Obama wants going forward is going to happen.

2014 is going to be pivotal. The left will try a full-court press to unseat republicans in the House, because that would remove the major stumbling block for the administration. Rhetoric in those elections is going to be heated because democrats will beat the "obstructionism" drum while republicans will have those four clubs—Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS, and AP—to beat democrats over the head with. In the end, those districts which are guaranteed by racial/entitlement affinities will not change hands; but those democrat districts with much more centrist constituencies may will be up for grabs, because dems aren't going to have much to recommend their reelections and republicans will have 4 MAJOR reasons for why democrats cannot be trusted with governance. There will be only one way those democrats can promote their own reelections, and that will be if they join republicans in condemning the administration's scandals. There is a vast middle ground of voters who are squishy on a lot of things, but REALLY don't like being lied to by a demonstrable crook. For them, the shine will have worn off Obama's apple.
