Seriously. Springfield Armory is in Illinois, is it not? From the sound of it, every single one of their M1A rifles can no longer be manufactured, delivered or sold, and neither can their 20 round magazines. And that's just the rifles. Most of the XD/XD(m) line is also now illegal to make in Illinois. This effectively puts Springfield out of business, unless they move.

Personally, if I were Springfield's management, I'd do what Ronnie Barret did to California law enforcement. "Nope. Sorry. I can't ship you that rifle you sent me for repairs. That would be illegal. You'll have to send someone to come pick it up;" and I'd move my factory to Texas where it would be appreciated. Why contribute to the Illinois tax base when this is the kind of fascist they elect?

TAM, do you think we could get a letter campaign together, and target Illinois gun manufacturers (and Governor Perry, so he could get things working down here) to get 'em to move to Texas? Seems like we'd be getting some GREAT help from the Governor of Illinois! :biggrinjester:
I got no pull with Perry, but I'd be happy to write some letters. How about a "Texas Edition M1A?"

When is Springfield Armory going to move to Texas, or some other state that appreciates their products? I wonder what the gubbiner thinks of an M1A......'specially if it's black.
