Cocked and locked on a full chamber is the only way it makes sense to carry a 1911. The guns are incredibly safe, and the anxiety that people have about carrying that way with that pistol is entirely psychological. It has little or no basis in fact. I carried 1911s for a while, and they are still my favorite pattern of pistol to shoot. That I don't carry them very often anymore is more about adjustments made to my carry rotation that make more sense for me personally. I had two, a 5" and a 3", and I recently sold the 3" to another member of this forum.swap71 wrote:New to CHL...shooter for many years. I am 100% comfortable carrying open in condition one when able (deer lease, hiking etc.) Not sure if I will be as comfortable in condition 1 with an ISWB holster.
Any advice?
