You're not the "J Allen" of J Allen Enterprises in Yorba Linda, are you? If so, I would like one of your M14 stocks for Christmas please.JALLEN wrote:How about a Winchester 94, in .357 magnum? Those are short, light, decent firepower and pretty easy to carry. Leverguns, probably in .30-.30, used to be on the back window of every pickup truck you saw when I was growing up in the hill country, a long, long time ago.
I think there is definitely a place for an abbreviated long gun in a vehicle, whether it is carried on a gun-rack or in a duffle bag. In an all out gunfight, a handgun is what you use to fight your way back to the long gun you should have never put down. BUT........
......a long gun does not replace a handgun for vehicle use. Access to a handgun is likely to be far easier. It will be far easier to maneuver a handgun inside the confined space of a vehicle. Both are features which make it the preferable first line of defense when driving......if guns become necessary. Hopefully, the gas pedal and a few judicious steering moves would come before guns become necessary.
