Lots of Texas CHL instructors also offer a Utah CFP course. I got mine from Crossfire Training, which is our own moderator "Crossfire." Their classes are currently being taught at both Cabelas in Fort Worth, and the Roanoke Recreation Center in Roanoke. I sat in on my wife's CHL class as an observer (I already had my CHL), and spontaneously decided to get my Utah CFP while I was there.

Crossfire charges $25.00 to take the Utah class — taught concurrently with a regular Texas CHL class — and the state of Utah charges $62.50 to process the application. So you're total investment (taking it from Crossfire) is $87.50, which is quite a deal when compared to the cost of a CHL. CLICK HERE for more info on Utah CFP.

Re: LOST!! my card holder with CHL

This is a perfect example of why it is worth it to get a Utah CFP or other non-Resident carry license from another state with Texas reciprocity.

Get one, and keep it in a desk drawer at home. Then when you lose your ID holder with your Texas CHL in it, you can continue to carry under the authority of your Utah CFP until your new Texas CHL arrives in the mail.
