FWIW, lots of experience here with the CCI snake shot. Some semis cycle fine with it, but it turns others into a jamomatic. And patterns can get pretty thin at distances much beyond rattlesnake striking distance. Only way to know is to test 'em. Caution too with some of the 15-ounce and less .38 revolvers: the blue plastic caps can sometimes jump out of the case due to recoil and also turn them into a jamomatic. Best compact tool I found for the job (no, I am not a fan of the TarEye) was Glock 36 (single stack .45). It cycled every time and put out nice wad of 9s. Next weekend though the "go to" guns will likely be 20 gauges with 8s and wide open chokes - and the pistolas just for backup.
