Shouldn't really need tools for regular maintenance. When I got my first 1911 I thought they were the biggest pain in the butt to field strip. After years of doing it, I can now do it blindfolded. As for the scratches, if it's parkerized, just rub a little gun oil on it. Sometimes that does the trick.

The Sigma is not nearly as bad as some say. The trigger is "different" and takes some getting used to. Having said that, my vote is for the M&P. I really like the ones I have. Don't know anything about the SR9, but it looks good.
