Re: Which Conceal Carry .45 ACP?

Once I started carrying a Commander length 1911, I haven't looked back. Yes, it's a bit heavy but carries very well both IWB and OWB and it conceals amazingly well. If you're looking to carry a .45, don't discount the 1911 platform.

Re: Range reccomendation for Frisco/Lewisvile area?

I love shooting at Eagle in Lewisville, but then again I live about 7-8 blocks away...

It's a bit busy right now, but it will settle down as we get past the holidays and the POTUS gun grab of the day statement...

Re: Why a 1911?

I carried either a polymer pistol (XD) or a J Frame for years, but switched to a Commander length 1911 about a year ago. I got one because I wanted one. Once I started carrying it, I had an epiphany. Yes it was a bit heavier, but it seemed to carry MUCH better than my XD40 IWB, and it concealed bett...

Re: Home Depot & Lowes ?

No signs at either the Lowes or Home Depot in Lewisville across from each other at Valley Ridge and I-35E. No signs at the new Ace Hardware on Main in Lewisville either. In fact, in all my errands, the only OC I've seen since 1/1/16 was a woman open carrying at the Lowes. That's where I decided to g...

Re: Does accidental exposure when carrying concealed still even apply with the open carry law?

Just put a big Ruger Redhawk in a shoulder holster and cram it in your pants pocket. I don't think I've seen that the shoulder holster has to be actually worn on the shoulder. That is, unless the law says "properly worn" or some legaleze like that... :biggrinjester:

Re: Awesome Lewisville PD Cheif Response

This is an excellent approach for LEOs to take, both in terms of dealing with people carrying openly and notifying the public not to panic. I think his comment about the post office was just an off-the-cuff remark about people carrying openly going about their normal daily routines. Chas. He admitt...

I've lived in Lewisville for over 20 yrs and that has ALWAYS been my experience.

Kevin Williamson on "Irish Democracy". He does a great job with this article. I shared on another forum as well.

At what point do you get worried that you've tinkered with, resized, adjusted, and replaced so many things that you have completely lost the initial problem?

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry

Took some pics of my two carry Sigs, along with my o-so-floppy Saddleback Leather man-bag. The P938 is in a RGrizzle front pocket holster and the P220c is in a RGrizzle CitySlicker2. The grips on the P938 are from furnitureyourway and the P220 are custom from Ken @ Hogue Inc. http://i235.photobucke...

Re: Ruger 1911 Commander .45 Problem

Sounds like you're just chasing it at this point. My CMD functions flawlessly with Wilson, Chip McCormick, and Ruger mags. I've tried all different loads, FMJ, HP, 220+p, 230gr, etc. No issues. I guess, like cars, there are lemons out there. Sorry to hear about it.

Re: Some places aren't wasting any time on the 30.07 signs

Thank you Charles. Well done. I've seen a few 30.07 signs pop up here and there and have no doubt that the increased scrutiny and "noise" generated by the OCT crowd during the Legislative session hightened the sensitivities of those that may have been oblivious or simply wanted to pursue a...

Re: Ruger 1911 Commander .45 Problem

My CMD has been flawless with the Ruger mags, a couple different models of Wilson mags, and a Chip McCormick mag. I'm interested to see what's going on.
